The Royal Canadian Mint is hiring a Quality Systems Engineer who can thrive in a dynamic and inclusive environment.

Reporting to the Manager of Quality Systems, the Quality Systems Engineer is responsible for the coordination and management of the Quality Management System.

Key Responsibilities: 1.

Monitoring Quality LevelsManage quality key performance indicators, ensure accuracy of data, determine trends and propose action based on trends.Act as facilitator in root cause, corrective action (CPAR) and non-conforming product (NCMR) material review board (MRB).Monitor and maintain the results from all inspections and take the appropriate preventive and corrective actions.2.

Management of Quality Management SystemAssist in maintaining the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System and update the quality manual, operational procedure, forms, work instructions, quality specifications to improve business activities and optimize productivity with compliance to the new Quality Management System.Mapping of the procedures and getting involvement of other departments to improve their business process.Taking actions raised by internal system, process and product audits to bring changes in the procedures.Updating and implementing procedures based on corrective and preventive actions.3.

Auditing of Internal ProcessesIdentifies opportunities for improvement through process audits, and by analyzing adverse quality trends.Perform root causes analysis and employs problem solving techniques to resolve process problems.Instruct others in continuous process improvements, including the use of various problem solving and productivity techniques such as process mapping and cost benefit analysis.Support Health & Safety for the quality team4.

TrainingFor all quality management needs, define training objectives, design training programs, including outline, text, presentation materials, handouts, and means to evaluate training effectiveness.

Requirements: A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.5 years of progressive hands on Quality and/or process engineering experience.Must be a member of an accredited Association of a Provincial Professional Engineers (e.G.

A.P.E.O.) or eligible to become a member.Reporting organization facilitation and training skills is a requirement.Familiarity and understanding of Quality Management System (ISO 9001) is required.Solid foundation in root cause analysis and problem solving techniques.Knowledge of basic quality tools and techniques, understanding of FMEA, flow charts, control plans, SPC and variation reduction.Working knowledge of measurement equipment and techniques.Effective communication skills.Ability to function in a team-based environment in identifying process improvement, quality issues and supplier performance.Bilingualism is preferred.The health and safety of our employees is a top priority.
